Assurant is our preferred partner.
The Assurant Pay with Rent policy comes with benefits that a lot of other companies call "extra". With Assurant, you'll have coverage in case you cause damages to your home or a neighbor's community for any accidents caused by fire, water, smoke, or explosion. As a current or future resident, you are automatically approved for coverage, which starts the same day as your lease.
Renters Insurance Q & A
You are required to carry an active personal liability policy that includes a minimum of $100,000 or $300,000 in liability coverage, depending on your community. Liability insurance does not cover your personal belongings – we strongly encourage you to purchase a renters insurance policy that includes coverage for your personal contents.
Once all parties have signed your lease for move in or renewal, you will receive an email from donotreply.pol@assurant.com containing a link specific to you where you can opt into the Pay with rent policy. If you need the link provided to you, please contact the leasing office.
If you already have an Assurant Renters policy, you will need to either update the interested party or cancel the policy and opt into the Cover360 program should you prefer to pay with rent.

Of course. While we suggest Assurant Cover360 for your benefit, you are welcome to purchase insurance from the carrier of your choice.

It is your responsibility to have an active renters insurance policy during the entire lease term. To enroll in an Assurant Cover360 policy, request the leasing office to send you the email with a link specific to your enrollment. If you change to a third-party insurance policy, email it to edwardrose@assurant.com and make sure it includes all the required information.
You will receive a notification if your policy does not meet the requirements, or if you do not purchase or upload a renters insurance policy. The notice will inform you the remaining days left to provide adequate proof of insurance. If not provided within that timeframe, a liability-only policy will be placed on your behalf.
